Have you ever wanted to snazz up your helmet? Did you lose a ski last season and now the other one is sitting in your closet looking sad? Do you have a core shot rope? Whether you want to spice up the gear you still use or repurpose retired gear, come to SAC Women’s+ crafting night! We will have stickers, paint, paper, markers, hot glue, patches, jewels, tools, and snacks. Bring your gear and your creativity! 🎨

Late quarter got you craving a beer and some good company? Still looking to make new alpine-loving friends on campus? Join fellow SAC members for a laid-back trivia night at EVGR Pub, no summit push or elevated HR required. There will be both general trivia plus a special mountain-themed round, with some special alpine-themed prizes for the winners. Bring your friends, test your knowledge, come learn about the Stanford Alpine Club, and raise a glass with us!

Celebrate summer adventures and meet future adventure buddies over BBQ!

Join the women’s+ of SAC to get ready for ski season with some beacon practice in Pacifica followed by some avalanche themed trivia at Humble Sea Brewing.

Please join us on Thursday, November 13 to celebrate the launch of the 2024-2025 Stanford Alpine Journal! The SAJ celebrates the many accomplishments, adventures, and objectives of contributing SAC members during the last year. We will have raffles for extra journals, and a presentation featuring one of the journal contributors. 

We are so excited to announce a new collaboration between SAC and Lake Tahoe Community College’s Wilderness Education Program! They’re going to run a series of courses in outdoor skills just for our club members. To kick this off, we’re having an information session at 7pm on Monday, November 3, 2025. This will happen at the Arillaga Family Recreation Center in downtown Menlo Park (note off-campus location). This will include information on the wilderness program at LTCC, how to become a student (required to take these courses), and will feature some remarks from current LTCC instructors, as well as opportunities to answer questions.

We are tentatively planning on offering the following courses:

• Introductory Backcountry Skiing/Snowboarding

• Introductory Mountaineering

• Intermediate Mountaineering

• Introduction to Backpacking

• Wilderness Navigation

• Introduction to Whitewater Rafting

• Swiftwater Rescue

• Introduction to Outdoor Rock Climbing (Top-Rope)

• Rock Climbing Rescue skill series

A couple notes: You can come if you are single/looking for a partner, or if you just want to be part of the mixer and support your friends. Please wear white if you are not looking for someone, and please wear black if you are. We will also have colored armbands to indicate this if you forget to wear the correct color. Part of the mixer will involve a “pitch” style event similar to the trip pitch nights, but this time the wonderful people of SAC are getting pitched by each other!

We’re super excited to be organizing a beginner-friendly backpacking trip to the stunning coastal trails of Point Reyes National Seashore!! We’ll be camping together at the Wildcat backcountry campground, just steps from the beach. The site has vault toilets, potable water, and food storage lockers, which makes it a great spot for a first backpacking trip.

This trip is open to everyone, no prior experience needed! The only requirement is being able to hike around 6 miles with your gear (plus a share of group gear) in your backpack. We’ll go at a friendly pace, take breaks along the way, and organize carpools and shared gear. Personal items like sleeping bags can be rented from the Stanford Outdoor Center.

📅 Trip dates: Leave Saturday morning, October 25 and return Sunday afternoon, October 26

📅 Planning meeting (required): Monday, October 20 at 7:00 pm

Back by popular demand! Have you been wanting to get out for your first backpacking trip but don’t have a gang? Eyeballing a specific multi pitch? Have extra permits? Come pitch a trip you’re excited about – this can be as detailed or vague as you want! See example slides & add your own to the slide deck linked above – you’re still welcome to join if you don’t make slides :)

A chill and friendly jaunt at Arastradero Preserve. We'll hike the uphills, jog the downhills, and hang out afterwards with snacks in the park! Reach out to Karna, Megan or Katie if you want to join.
