SAC, Patagonia, and AAC: Our Changing Mountains

Matthew James Matera's picture

Tuesday, January 7th from 6-7:30pm

For several years, a group of scientist climbers traveled to the high mountains of Peru for an environmentally-based, humanitarian expedition. The American Alpine Club were concerned about the growing urbanization and industrialization stressing the environment of Western Peru. Coupled with recent glacial recession, the AAC understood the urgent need to collect data on water and air resources —important to a sustainable future for the people of Peru.

Join scientist/climber Bill Straka as the shares the breathtaking imagery and scientific data drawn from the expedition to the Cordillera Blanca region of the scenic high altitude Andes.

Win some great prizes from Patagonia. Everyone is welcome.

This event is free. Light refreshments will be served.
